I am very close to my sisters from my father's second marriage. Their mother - (my step-mother) is heavily involved in the charismatic and word-faith movements. This has come to be very difficult for myself and my stepmother's three girls - my half-sisters.
I am a devout Christian and love to study the Word and I love theology, doctrinal studies, learning about early Christianity, the Reformation, etc. I even enjoy reading about Islam and other religions.
But trying to have a discussion with my step-mother - about her beliefs and reasons for them - is like talking to a child. She and all her friends involved in this act as if they are high sometimes!
And she's gotten so into it recently that when anyone asks her how she's doing or whatever - even if things are truly terrible - she goes to great length to say how wonderful life is and how good God is, and everything is just fine. (I think she doesn't believe in saying anything "bad".) This, is while her daughter (a freshman in high school) is having a lesbian love (actually, sex) with another girl. But she is busy every weekday going to an Andrew Wommack school.
What more do you know about
Andrew Wommack? I've tried to get info off the internet but it's mostly about Hagin, Crouch, etc. I hope that if I and my other sister educate ourselves, perhaps we can shed some light to Gail about the real truth of these beliefs. But, I'd like some specific info. about Andrew Wommack's teachings - 'cause she is deep, deep, deep into it.....she's planning on moving to Colorado to be a part of his whole thing.
OK, sorry for the really long story. I'm just looking for any additional info - and maybe some support!

ps: your account of the people trying to baptise you in the spirt - that happened to me when I was 15 - I went to church with my stepmother and someone had a revelation from God that I was to come to Jesus or something like that. Next thing I knew there were three people around me urging me to just "let the holy spirit in" and "speak His language", etc. It was more freaky than I can describe!
