People usually assume that if they don't understand God's Word or His commands, that those Holy rules must be arbitrary, or nonsensical. Truth is, there is a reason.
When God tells us to do something, you can be certain there is a reason.
Which day is really "The Lord's Day?" People say
that Sunday is "The Lord's Day" because of the
Resurrection of Jesus, but why doesn't the Bible mention this fact, or command
us to keep Sunday holy? The "early church fathers" definitely equated "Sunday"
with "The Lord's Day" -- but what does the Bible actually TEACH?
Charismatics and Pentacostals teach that, based on
one verse in the Bible, that God gives us a "Prayer
Language" that we can use to "edify ourselves," and so that we can pray in a
way that Satan cannot understand. Is this for real? Or a joke. More, is it a
deception to lure people away from God? Let's use logic, and the Bible.
Many "Bible Teachers" claim that not only should
we not stay away from pork and other unclean meats
mentioned in the Bible, but that it is a "doctrine of demons" if we don't eat
things that God calls an abomination to HIm. In other words, God is wrong, and
these teachers are right. Or vice versa. Which is it? I'll go with God, every time.
People like John Hagee and Tim LaHaye teach that
"Israel" is Jewish, and that followers of Jesus are
different, that they are "the Church." Then how come the Bible teaches the
complete opposite? Why does the Bible call us "Abraham's Seed?" Why does
the Bible teach that "true Israel" has absolutely nothing to do with birth?
The Bible teaches that Jesus will return the same
way He departed this world? Visibly. Then why do
popular "teachers" push a completely different mind-numbing drug? Why do
they quote partial verses to prove their point, while ignoring the gist of the
Biblical passages? Do you trust these teachers, or God's Word?
People shout "We're not under the law!" when the
subject is broached, "The Sabbath," or "Obeying
God." But if something is "holy, just and good" why would we think we didn't
want it, or didn't need it? Or that we had the power to change it? God made
the Sabbath, the fourth of the moral laws, for us. It's a blessing, not drudgery.
Come now,
and let us
reason
together,
saith
the
Lord...
Isaiah 1:18
Christ came to nail the Ten Commandments to the
cross, right? So that He could give us two, much
more simplistic rules. Throw out the moral law, and just love God and other
people. Or did Jesus come to live and uphold His Father's laws? Are they one
and the same? Did Jesus merely give us an easier to understand paradigm?
Prosperity for Christians, so that the wicked will be
jealous of our Mercedes and Ferarris. Rich people
are blessed and poor people are cursed, right? Isn't that what the parable of
"The Rich Man and Lazarus" teaches? The blessed rich man goes to heaven
and the guy cursed with poverty burns in hell, right? Think again!
Should a modified 10 Commandents be posted in
courthouses across America? With the Fourth
Commandment reading: "Keep Sunday Holy." Would that be good or bad? And
why is it okay to break the Sabbath, and yet, is it just as okay to use God's
Name in vain? Or worship idols? Why do Christians trash the one out of ten?
The Word of God Makes Sense. God Makes Sense.
Pray for Understanding, Truth, Wisdom -- and use LOGIC.
If any of you
lacks wisdom,
he should ask
God, who gives
generously to
all without
finding fault,
and it will be
given to him.
James 1:5 (NIV)
Jesus proceeded to tell this true story about His friend Lazarus, who died
and went inside Abraham's Bosom, and a rich man who kowtowed to the
"Prosperity Gospel" saw Laz from hell! Isn't this the way the story goes?
Didn't the Disciples come to Jesus and ask Him:
Master, tell us about Life after Death! And then
a TRUTH that false Christianity attempts to discard. Have you sought God
with your whole heart? Is His Law the apple of your eye? Have you ever
called on Jesus to save you? Is His Word the light for your path?
Save me, I am YOURS! Everything you need as a
Christian is found in this Psalm, including many a
He can ultimately torture you forever and forever? Haven't you been taught
that this is true, that God is the ultimate torturer, that He will only be satisfied
when every atheist and Buddhist and Muslim is screaming in pain, forever?
Employing logic, reason, and intelligence . . . does it
TRULY make sense that God would create you so that
