Dirklan's Birth Story...

...his Mama & Papa knew his name years before he was born!

Dirklan has been ready and waiting to be born

since around the year of 1986 (that's when his big brother

Harrison was born) -- in 1983 his father wrote a short

story called "Fearsweat," featuring a character named

"Harrison Dirklan."

Carolena was delighted to provide entry into the world

for Dirklan (Genevieve, if this birth turned out to be a girl).

She was very open in her desire to have a baby boy,

especially after the wonderful experience with her baby

girl's birth almost two years before.

Carolena astonished doctors and nurses and

relatives and strangers alike in her almost miraculous

accomplishment of healthy natural birth, with hardly a noise

of discomfort, even displaying the strength to joke during

some tsunami-sized contractions.

Still, with that champion experience beneath her belt,

she was a little nervous about the upcoming delivery. Even

by just going by the size of her belly, you'd think this would

be at least a 12-pound baby, if not bigger.
