We are not supposed to be fearful of end-time events, as the birth pangs of creation increase in violence, as each contraction draws closer and closer together -- we are not to be afraid, why? Because we don't think God wants us to go through all the terrible tribulations He has already promised we are going to go through, that God has changed His mind and is going to "snatch" us out of the jaws of death and violence and trouble? No, we don't have to be afraid because Jesus said He would be with us, even up to the end of the world, that He would be with us, as He was with Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego when they went through their fiery trial.
And we know that one of the end-time events that is going to be a flare-up in the end days is, very clearly stated, the Sabbath of the Lord. As we hear about "Christians" protesting the removal of the Ten Commandments statues and scrolls, from courthouses and public places of government, people angrily swearing that the "pagans are ruining this country, and we gotta get God back into the government," that "we need to take this country back for Jesus" -- the TRUTH of the matter is, these "Christians" that are screaming the loudest about the "great evil" of the Ten Commandments being removed from secular government buildings, these are the same "Christians" that most angrily denounce God's Holy Sabbath, these are the same "Christians" that vehemently sneer: "Jewish Sabbath!" and "We're not under the law!" and "The laws of God were nailed to the cross!" and "We changed the Sabbath!" and "Now Sunday is the Sabbath!"
But how do we know that specifically, the Sabbath is going to be a true issue?

But pray ye that your flight be not in
the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
For then shall be great tribulation, such
as was not since the beginning of the
world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be
shortened, there should no flesh be
saved: but for the elect's sake those
days shall be shortened.
Matthew 24:20-22

Jesus said this in answer to His Disciples pointed question: "And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (Matthew 24:3)
Take note, the people who are crying the loudest about the Ten Commandments right now? They change the whole meaning of these verses, they actually change the Disciples question to: "What is going to happen when Jerusalem is destroyed?"
This is to be a tribulation like nothing the world has seen before, much worse than the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 a.d., much worse than even the Holocaust in the World War II. But the kicker here is that two lunatic fringe groups change the Disciples question, AND the answer of Jesus. One slightly crazed group responds with: "I don't care what Jesus said, I don't think God wants us to go through the Great Tribulation, who cares what He said about the elect and the days being shortened to save them, I believe in the Secret Rapture even if it isn't in the Bible, I believe prophets, modern-day prophets who know much more than the Bible have told us about it, so God must have changed His mind, so we don't have to worry about this tribulation, OR about the Sabbath!" The other group, slightly less froth at the mouth, claims: "Hey, forget what the Bible says, this whole chapter is talking about the destruction of Jerusalem, we don't have to worry about either tribulation OR the Sabbath because this whole thing was fulfilled, forget the whole end of the world thing and the sign of Christ's coming, because all that has already happened, so don't worry about tribulation, and forget about the Sabbath!"
Believe it or not, the second group is the more dangerous. Not only do they insist on changing God's holy law, modifying the very Ten Commandments that God wrote with His own finger, but they are also the group that is thundering the loudest about "taking over America," about making this a "Christian nation," about making the laws of this country the very same as the laws of the Old Testament (except that they insist on modifying those laws with their own man-made traditions).
There are groups operating at this very minute, that are plotting to "take back this country for Jesus," with the intent of making America a theocracy, instead of a democracy. And they insist that the only way to do this is by applying the laws of the Old Testament, TO THE STATE. So if you are homosexual? You must be put to death by the state. If you are a drunkard? The same. If you "break the Fourth Commandment?"
You should be put to death.
If you think I'm making this up to just try and scare you, then I suggest you do some investigating. Do a Google search on "Theonomists," and "Reconstructionists,"  these are the most dangerous cultic revisionists of history pushing strongly for an American Theocracy or Theonomy, pushing their embellished Replacement Theology. They are the groups attempting to "prove" that all the founding fathers were modern-day Baptists and Presbyterians, that everyone from George Washington to Benjamin Franklin was a Fundamentalist Christian who wanted a theocracy instead of a democracy (in other words a Christian government where Christians rule with power, enforcing "Christian laws," and standards and morals.
D. James Kennedy is actively pushing this deadly propaganda, on a regular basis, and even such prolific babblers such as Rod Parsley are climbing up onto the bandwagon (Parsley is trading in his good ole boy huck 'n jive, giggle-grimace-growl, for some slick memorized speeches, he's claiming "moral clarity" and "silent no longer," setting aside his usual goober "moonshine" for this more deadly intellectual cyanide). The more intellectual and politically motivated groups are now seeking to control the magical, mystical fanatics (those you see jumping up and down shouting in vain "Jesus Christ!" and screaming about their anointed harvest). Get control of those who will believe anything they're told, and you have a powerful, deadly zombie army.
Think about it. Why are people getting upset about the removal of the Ten Commandments, when they do not even KEEP the Ten Commandments? They claim the Sabbath has been done away, it was nailed to the cross, it was changed by the Apostles, if ANY of this is true, then it is not even the Ten Commandments any more, not the Biblical list as written by the Finger of God, spoken out loud by God's Own Voice for all the multitude to hear.
It is a new and improved man-made version.
For it to be anything near accurate to where it is the same thing these people are claiming it to be, the Fourth Commandment should be changed to read: "You better keep Sunday holy." Because that is what these people teach. And they are very angry people.
WHY are they so angry? Why does the word "Sabbath" provoke such blatant hostility? Such an absence of LOVE?
The Bible makes it pretty clear, in an end-times connotation:

And he shall speak great words against
the Most High, and shall wear out the
saints of the Most High, and think to
change times and laws : and they shall
be given into his hand until a time and
times and the dividing of time.
Daniel 7:25

Think about it, this same power that speaks against the Most High, also will wear out the saints of the Most High -- and what else will this power attempt to do?

...THINK to change times and laws.

Think about it, this is happening RIGHT NOW. Forget about what has taken place in the past, how certain religious powers have rewritten the Ten Commandments, removing commandments, "reinterpreting" other commandments.
THINK ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY. It will answer the question: "Why do people get so downright ENRAGED about the topic of God's Holy Sabbath Day?
If you think the Ten Commandments are important, then maybe you ought to consider keeping them. All Ten of them, even the Fourth. The Fourth Commandment is very specific, and it is NOT heaped up with hard rules to follow:

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy
work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of
the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do
any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy
daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maid-
servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger
that is within thy gates: For in six days the
LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and
all that in them is, and rested the seventh
day: wherefore the LORD blessed the
Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:8-11

It's pretty specific and can't really be interpreted in all the truly bizarre ways that people read this commandment. It is very clear: a. Remember the Sabbath day. b. Keep it holy. c. Work six days and get all your work done. d. The Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord God. e. No part of your household should labor, not even visitors to your house; f. God created the world in six days and rested on the Seventh. g. God bless the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Please read it yourself. There is absolutely no mention of just choosing one day out of seven, it is very specific in its wording, that we honor the Seventh day, because God honored the Seventh day. He made a certain day HOLY, not an idea that you can pick and choose (people cannot make a day holy, only God can -- God then asks us to KEEP this specific day holy). Think about it, there was actually a penalty for working on the Sabbath around Mount Sinai, people were put to death for picking up sticks (and hint, we don't live under a theocracy at present, so that's why these peripheral rules don't apply, but think, if Church and State DOES join together, as so many are attempting to do right now, then these "laws" will come back into effect, only now, of course, you will be punished for working on SUNday!).
THINK about it, what if Moses found some guy picking up sticks on the Sabbath. The guy could say: "Yo Moshe! Dude, this is SATURDAY, my Sabbath is on Wednesday, that's why I'm picking up sticks today, okay dude?" You think he could have made that fly?
You cannot keep the Sabbath on Tuesday (you can vote on it, believe it, gather others that agree with you, claim it, swear by it -- but none of this makes it holy; what it does is establish a new tradition, a tradition of men and women). God said to Remember the Sabbath, the Seventh day.
When someone remembers this, then he isn't going to get so upset when statues of the Ten Commandments are torn down -- because you can't change the Ten Commandments, the power that is against God can only THINK to change His times and laws. But you cannot change what God has said with His own voice, written with His own finger.
Will you REMEMBER, or "think to change times and laws?"

Sabbath Thought #11

Will the Sabbath become
an Issue at the End of Days?
If ye then,
being evil,
know how
to give
good gifts
unto your
children,
how much
more shall
your Father
which is in
heaven give
good things
to them that
ask him?
Matthew 7:11

God gives us good gifts, He gave us the Sabbath, do you believe Him? Or is the Sabbath a day of dread, instead?
The Sabbath is our gift from God, the first gift in the Garden of Eden!
Do not err,
my beloved
brethren.
Every good
gift and
every
perfect gift
is from above,
and cometh
down from
the Father
of lights, with
whom is no
variableness,
neither shadow
of turning. Of
His own will
begat he us
with the Word
of Truth, that
we should be
a kind of
firstfruits
of His
creatures.
James 1:16-18

Make no mistake about it, God's Sabbath day, a gift to us, is a perfect gift, from the Father of lights, Who does not change, doesn't even hint at turning or changing!
The New Covenant:
For this is the
covenant that I
will make with
the house of
Israel after
those days,
saith the Lord;
I will put my
Laws into their
mind, and write
them in their
hearts:
and I will be to
them a God,
and they shall be
to me a people:
Hebrews 8:10

Are you a part of
the New Covenant?
Has God written
His laws, including
the Fourth Commandment,
in your heart? DId
He put His Sabbath
in your mind?

For the
Son of
man is
Lord
even
of the
Sabbath
day.
Matthew 12:8

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Do you believe it? It is His own holy day, it is the Lord's day, the Seventh Day, blessed by God at the creation of the world!
And He said
unto them,
"The Sabbath
was made
for man, and
not man for
the Sabbath:
Therefore the
Son of man
is Lord also
of the Sabbath."
Mark 2:27-28

This is Jesus speaking about Himself. Do you believe Him? Did He really make His own holy day a gift for all mankind? Or do you prefer the "traditions of the elders?"
