This whole notion, that the law was done away with, or changed in some way, that God gave us the Ten Commandments and then changed His mind . . . where in the world does it come from?
I think the answer is in the question: where in the WORLD does it come from?
That's where the idea comes from, from the world, not the Bible. From the world, not from God.
The whole notion of "God changing His mind" comes from false prophets, not from true prophets of God. There is a whole "School of Prophecy" (and you can "git a doctirit" from them too, why spend all them years in school, anyway? Don'tchya wanna be a DOCTOR? well for $999 flipped upside-down you too kin be uh doctir) that teaches that God lies to mankind, to teach him, and that God sometimes thinks better of something, and changes His mind to reflect the times . . . yet this concept is not in the Bible. It is in the world, not in God's Word (and we must remember, the true enemy is not people, they are just tools in the enemies' employ, the true enemy is a spiritual enemy, in very high places).
The Bible says that "I AM Yahweh, I change not," (Malachi 3:6-7) and that the Father of lights has not even a shadow of turning (James 1:17), that Jesus the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8), that God is not a man that He would ever tell a lie (Numbers 23:19) . . . and yet, false prophets "teach" just the opposite (they even teach that God IS a man, and that man IS a god).
God says "Remember," false prophets then "reinterpret" that to mean "forget." Jesus says "I didn't come to change the law,"  that the law in fact shall last forever, that not even the smallest part of it will change. (see Matthew 5:16-19, the light we shine and the Ten Commandments are eternally linked, and yet false teachers [and the very true power behind them, which has nothing to do with "true," this very true power] attempt to snuff out this light) The Bible says that the list of our sins was nailed to the cross, and people desperately change it to say "Jesus nailed the Ten Commandments to the cross." (see Colossians 2:14)
Yet even with all this vicious despite for God's Holy Law, people yet cling to some shreds of "the law." For instance, most "Christians" will say, it is wrong to worship other gods, and that it's best not to have bonified idols in your house, or even make an idol of something that you cherish. Most "Christians" say it is wrong to use God's name in vain, despite the charlatans in TeeVeeLand who shout out "Great God Almighty!" apropos of nothing, they just shout it out to whip their deluded multitudes into a cheerleading frenzy, whip up the emotions -- they employ God's Name vainly, and yet still, most "Christians" say that taking the Lord's Name in vain is yet a "no-no."
Then there is the Sabbath. Many people have taken to calling the "first day" of the week "the sabbath," why? Because Jesus rose from the dead on the first day. Yet, if you check out the record, the closest followers of Jesus, even after His death, rested on the Sabbath day, according to the commandment (see Luke 23:56). You should think about this fact, long and hard -- if they were mistaken, if they were sinning, the followers of Jesus, in still keeping the Sabbath Commandment, despite the terrible fact that Jesus was dead, the Bible would be pretty quick to record the fact that they had done wrong -- the Bible is always clear, and does not hesitate to records the sins of the faithful, in order that we might learn. Yet "keeping the Sabbath, according to the Commandment" is not ONCE listed as a sin in the Bible.
Can God reverse His own commandment?

Behold, I have received commandment
to bless: and He hath blessed; and I
cannot reverse it.
Numbers 23: 20

In the Ten Commandments, the Fourth Commandment clearly states that God created the heavens and the earth, and that He rested on the Seventh day. If we change this commandment to another day, then we also have to change the Creation itself, otherwise it is NOT the same Commandment. The fact that Jesus rested on the Sabbath, even in DEATH, and then rose on the first day of the week -- this in itself STRENGTHENS the Sabbath Commandment, because we are to follow the example of Jesus: 1 Peter 2:21, Hebrews 8:5-8, John 13:15 -- but the same way Jesus asked us to wash each other's feet, as a constant reminder of His ministry of humility, people have for the most part ignored this very important aspect of "The Lord's Supper," considering it "just too icky to practice." Sure, we'll eat the bread and drink the juice, but wash the feet, hey, we're not under the law!
1 Peter 2:21 says that we are to follow the steps of Jesus -- walk the way He walked, that He left us an example to follow . . . we are to follow His steps. Think about it, what we have been talking about here is how much people prefer their own traditions to those set by God. The Sabbath is a God-made tradition, not a man-made tradition. "Calling Sunday the Sabbath, or even the Lord's Day" is a man-made tradition, not a God-made tradition! Think about it, nowhere, not in one single verse, is Sunday even called or suggested as "holy."
What WAS the tradition of Jesus?

And he came to Nazareth, where He had
been brought up: and, as His custom was,
He went into the synagogue on the
Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Luke 4:16

Think about it. The Bible states clearly that this was the custom of Jesus, He did it every Sabbath, it was a tradition, a God-made tradition -- Jesus went in the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read the scriptures. If you rip the Sabbath out of this passage, then you should also rip "going to church" out of this passage, as well as "reading the scriptures." Jesus destroyed the Sabbath, despite swearing He did not come to alter even the finest point, the comma or the period? Did Jesus also destroy the synagogue?
People turn to mockery regarding this verse. You will even hear the false teachers sneering from their pulpits: "Well, Jesus WAS a Jew, so He had to go to church on Sabbath." They sneer this, as if Jesus was sinning, as if He didn't know any better, as if we need to forgive Him this transgression. As if we maybe ought to forgive Himf or being Jewish, for doing Jewish things, for keeping God's Law. The false prophets, who consider themselves more knowledgeable than Jesus, are audacious enough to COMMAND that you "go to church on Sunday, and keep the commandment" -- and yet WHAT commandment COULD you be keeping by going to church on Sunday?
HINT: There is absolutely no hint of a commandment to keep Sunday holy, or to even go to church on Sunday, let alone to "think to change times and laws" (unless you are in a completely different camp, completely AGAINST God and His laws).
I don't even suggest that there is something WRONG with going to church on Sunday. You might benefit if you went to church seven days a week, but six of these days have absolutely nothing to do with the Fourth Commandmen (except that the Commandent explicitly states that you are supposed to work on those six days). When people tell you otherwise? They are lying, perhaps unintentionally, they are just repeating a lie someone foisted on them (and perhaps that person as well repeated the lie with good intentions, it had been taught to them as well). In some cases, the lie is unintentional (but it does not alter the FACT that it is still a LIE), but the sad truth is, in many, many cases, as taught by even the most famous "Bible Answer Men," they ARE intentionally lying, because they DO KNOW BETTER, they know they haven't even the hint of a theological leg to stand on, and so they hop about on NO legs, hoping you won't notice their odd dance steps.
(We go to church on Sunday to honor the Resurrection, and this is kind of like keeping the Sabbath, so sort of, if you go to church on Sunday to honor Christ's Resurrection then you are kind of and sort of keeping the Commandment, so you CAN be a part of the Remnant really, that "have the Testimony of Jesus and keep the Commandments of God" -- uh, you know, sort of, isn't that ENOUGH?)
It certainly is a bizarre no-leg dance contest.
The fact is, God did not change His mind. We are told, clearly, in many examples, that God does NOT change. And with even the smallest study of the Bible, you, yourself, can find out fairly easily, that there is no verse that even hints at a "holiness" of Sunday. And is there a single verse that HINTs that God has somehow removed the holiness He invested int he Seventh day?
No, there isn't (search though you may, and mind you, the false teachers will have you pursuing red herrings down odd bunny trails, perhaps even riding a wild goose -- but think about it, if they can't even refute this fact, why follow them down the rabbit hole? and WHAT in the world would a fish be doing in a bunny hole?) . . . . God says He "specialized" the SEVENTH day -- Genesis 2:2-3 states that God blessed the Seventh day, He santified it, and that He rested from all His work which He had created and made (do not trust me here, look it up yourself, and ask yourself, where is the verse that alters this fact, in any fashion? Hint: it is nowhere to be found in the Bible, absolutely NOwhere). Then there is the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20: (remember, God was speaking these Words aloud, for all the people to hear -- Verse 18 says that "all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off) God says "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." Notice it is ALREADY holy, He tells them to KEEP it holy, to remember to KEEP it holy (have you remembered? or have you forgotten? isn't REMEMBERING an actual part of the Commandment?).
False teachers claim that the Sabbath did not exist until the Ten Commandments were spoken by God in Exodus 20 (and yet it is so easy to discover their utter subterfuge, with only minimal investigation), because in Exodus 16:23 and 28-30:

And he said unto them, This is that
which the LORD hath said, tomorrow
is the rest of the Holy Sabbath unto the
LORD: bake that which ye will bake
today, and seethe that ye will seethe;
and that which remaineth over lay up
for you to be kept until the morning.
Exodus 16:23

And the LORD said unto Moses,
How long refuse ye to keep my
Commandments and my Laws? See,
for that the LORD hath given you the
Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on
the sixth day the bread of two days;
abide ye every man in his place, let
no man go out of his place on the
Seventh day. So the people rested
on the Seventh day.
Exodus 16:28-30

There it is (and this ain't the only place, I assure you), before the Ten Commandments were thundered from the top of Sinai, It's amazing -- ask yourself, why follow someone who openly lies to you? People didn't know about the Sabbath until the Ten Commandments? These three verses absolutely REFUTE such lies. Think about it, even Noah knew the difference between clean animals and unclean animals (Genesis 7:2). The whole idea that God "thunk up" some new idea is absolutely absurd -- God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:8-10). Remember the former things of old, for He is Yahweh, there is none like Him, He declares the end from the beginning and knows even from the most ancient times the things that haven't even happened yet, His counsel SHALL STAND (despite well-intentioned "Christians" attempting to knock it down) -- God will do His pleasure!
Genesis Chapter 2 makes it completely clear, that people knew about the Lord's Sabbath (with a little study, you'll find that God often refers to the Sabbath as "My Sabbath" and the "Sabbath of the Lord" -- yet what do the deceivers convert these clear passages to: "the sabbath of the Jews!"). And WHY people hate Jews so much is probably the greatest mystery of the world, they'll shake a Book that was written by Jews, to Jews, for Jews, which even calls THEM Jews, and they'll sneer that it is a "Jewish Sabbath!" From Genesis to Revelation, God does not change. From Creation until Eternity, the Sabbath will always exist, despite those who hate God's holy day, who seek to change His times and laws. The Sabbath is eternal. And it is YOURS, today. Abraham was saved by faith, and he kept God's Commandments!

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be
by grace; to the end the promise might
be sure to all the seed; not to that only
which is of the law, but to that also
which is of the faith of Abraham ; who
is the father of us all,
Romans 4:16

And therefore it was imputed to him
for righteousness.
Romans 4:22

Because that Abraham obeyed my
voice, and kept my charge, my
commandments, my statutes,
and my laws.
Genesis 26:5

When confronted with these verses, the false teachers start their intricate no-legged hopping tap dance. "Well, it SAYS that, sure, but it doesn't MEAN that!" or "Yeah, okay, but that was then, that's the Bible, it's really, really old, our prophets are new and improved, we have more relevant and up-to-date information than did the Bible writers!" Or Abraham was a Jew! (Not realizing in their ignorance that Abraham was the father of Isaac, who was the father of Jacob, who was the father of Judah, which is where the name "Jew" actually comes from -- and if Abraham was a Jew, then so was the first man, Adam, as was the Second Adam, Christ, as will anyone be considered, heir according to the promise!)

For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on
Christ. There is neither Jew nor
Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor
female: for ye are all one in
Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's,
then are ye Abraham's seed, and
heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:27-29

Well, ARE you a seed of Abraham? Will you sneer at your ancestor? If you claim to be Christ's, then you are a seed of Abraham, you inherit what was his, and Abraham obeyed the voice of Yahweh, Abraham kept Yahweh's Commandments, Statutes and Laws.
But this is not what the deceiver teaches, is it? No, they teach that God DOES change His mind, that God DOES lie, that God DOES rethink things and make better choices after holy reflection. They teach, in short, that God is a man (and generally, close on the heels of that blasphemous idiocy, they "teach" that man is God).
Who do you trust? The new and improved teachers, or God Himself?

Sabbath Thought #12

Will the Sabbath become
an Issue at the End of Days?
If ye then,
being evil,
know how
to give
good gifts
unto your
children,
how much
more shall
your Father
which is in
heaven give
good things
to them that
ask him?
Matthew 7:11

God gives us good gifts, He gave us the Sabbath, do you believe Him? Or is the Sabbath a day of dread, instead?
The Sabbath is our gift from God, the first gift in the Garden of Eden!
Do not err,
my beloved
brethren.
Every good
gift and
every
perfect gift
is from above,
and cometh
down from
the Father
of lights, with
whom is no
variableness,
neither shadow
of turning. Of
His own will
begat he us
with the Word
of Truth, that
we should be
a kind of
firstfruits
of His
creatures.
James 1:16-18

Make no mistake about it, God's Sabbath day, a gift to us, is a perfect gift, from the Father of lights, Who does not change, doesn't even hint at turning or changing!
The New Covenant:
For this is the
covenant that I
will make with
the house of
Israel after
those days,
saith the Lord;
I will put my
Laws into their
mind, and write
them in their
hearts:
and I will be to
them a God,
and they shall be
to me a people:
Hebrews 8:10

Are you a part of
the New Covenant?
Has God written
His laws, including
the Fourth Commandment,
in your heart? DId
He put His Sabbath
in your mind?

Matthew 12:8

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. Do you believe it? It is His own holy day, it is the Lord's day, the Seventh Day, blessed by God at the creation of the world!
And He said
unto them,
"The Sabbath
was made
for man, and
not man for
the Sabbath:
Therefore the
Son of man
is Lord also
of the Sabbath."
Mark 2:27-28

This is Jesus speaking about Himself. Do you believe Him? Did He really make His own holy day a gift for all mankind? Or do you prefer the "traditions of the elders?"
